A disturbing moment

The candles had been lit, blue and white ones this time, then I cast the circle around me. I had made sure I was within its borders before it had been completed so I would not need to go through the steps of having to enter it, I could just now merely sit down in its center. My legs were crossed over each other, my hands resting now, palm sides up, lightly on my knees. I let my eyes slowly drift closed while I took breaths in through my nose, exhaling through my mouth, letting my whole being begin to gradually relax.

Different scenes and images began floating through my mind's eyes, the one I decided to focus on was one where I was walking through field of wildflowers dressed in a long flowy dress. The sun shone brightly as I walked along, a wolf walking along side me, one who appeared sometimes during these meditations as a sort of guide.

I saw in the distance a woman, dark haired and dressed in all white, standing near a brook. She turned in my direction as I walked in her direction, giving me a warm smile.

"Death is coming." She said, her shape slowly fading then into the air.

That statement made me stop where I was. Everything then seemed to change. Clouds formed in the sky, casting a darkness over everything, which sent a shiver through me. Where the woman dressed in white had been was now a black smoky unrecognizable form, then a face flashed before me, that of a red headed young woman, her features blurred.

My eyes snapped open, the vision having startled me out of the trance like state I had been in. I suddenly realized I was gasping for air, my body shaking, this had been the first time anything of that sort had happened during meditation and well it terrified me, not just the vision, but the feeling I now had of impending doom.

I slowly rose to my feet, a bit unsteadily. Once the circle had been un-cast I stepped toward my bed. Taking a couple deep breathes as I lifted the receiver from the cradle, dialing the number then.

"Please answer, Willow." I whispered under my breath, there was only one red headed young woman I knew, though we had never met, Giles had spoken of her numerous times when he came to the coven in England and I had spoken with her on the phone from time to time as the forces of good and evil were gathering in Sunnydale for the final fight.

I had gone back into the room with Tara after Buffy had talked to the group. I was just about to sit down when I heard my phone ring. I looked up at her smiling. Then, I walked out, opening up the phone to see what the number was. It wasn't one I recognized, but I better still answer it.

I opened it up, lifting it to my ear. "Hello?"
"Willow?" a light sigh of relief when I heard the familiar voice on the other end.

"It's Maida." I said in a calm voice. I had worried that I would be nervous whne speaking to her, but once I heard her voice the nervousness evaporated.
I was quite suprised to hear Maida's voice on the other end of the phone.

"Oh Maida, Hi! How are you?" I said, sitting down in a waiting room chair.
"Oh Maida, Hi! How are you?"

"I am doing good." Well I was aside from the disturbing vision I just had.

"How are you doing? And Giles? I hope you all got through the battle pretty much unscathed." I said, curling my legs beneath me in an attempt to get a bit more comfortable on the bed.
"I'm doing good, thanks and Giles is doing fine also." I paused when she mentioned the battle.

"Uh yeah, I wasn't hurt, but some of our other people were unfortunately." I said frowning.

"Is everything okay Maida?"
"Uh yeah, I wasn't hurt, but some of our other people were unfortunately."

"I'm sorry to hear that." traces of sadness seeped into my voice when I said that, but then when death was spoken of it always made me feel a bit that way.

"Is everything okay Maida?"

"I'm not sure." there really was no reason to lie to her, besides Willow would probably sense that there was something troubling me even if I tried denying it to her.

"Will everyone be heading to Cleveland?" I asked.
"Yeah, but everyones better now." I smiled.

"You're not sure? Something sounds wrong? What is it?"

"Uh, about that. We're actually going to be heading to LA now..we were going to go to Cleveland, but Buffy had a vision about another hellmouth, so now ones forming under LA." I frowned.

"Where are you at?"
"Uh, about that. We're actually going to be heading to LA now..we were going to go to Cleveland, but Buffy had a vision about another hellmouth, so now ones forming under LA."

"Don't go." If Buffy had also had a vision then things definitely would not be good if they went there. There was definitely a dark cloud over LA and who knew who would survive this fight, if any. But then when had the slayer or any that fought with her shirked away from a possible fight or apocalypse.

"Where are you at?"

"I'm actually in Cleveland at the moment." I said with a soft smile, I could just imagine the hows? and whys? that must be going through Willow's mind at the moment.
When she told me not to go, I paused.

"Don't go? Maida, did you have a vision too, or something?" I asked her, being serious now.

"Your in Cleveland? What?" I asked, rather calmly taking in account all of the questions I had going through my mind right now.

"But LA is where we're going. They need us to save the world..yet again."
"Don't go? Maida, did you have a vision too, or something?"

"This is not something to be discussed over the phone, Willow." I stated calmly. Rising up from my bed I went to the closet to pull out my bags.

"Where can I meet you in LA?" I asked, tossing the bags onto the bed.
"Okay.." I said and stopped talking about it, seeing that she didn't want to talk about it over the phone.

"Um well we don't even know when we're going there. I think for tonight, Buffy had wanted to stay in a hotel so we could all get our rest, then leave for LA tomorrow." I said to her.

"Do you want me to call you again tomorrow after we arrive, or do you just want to head there before us and we'll meet up at Angel's hotel, the Hyperion." I asked her.
"Um well we don't even know when we're going there. I think for tonight, Buffy had wanted to stay in a hotel so we could all get our rest, then leave for LA tomorrow." I said to her.

"Alright." I said, opening my bags so I could start putting my things in them.

"Do you want me to call you again tomorrow after we arrive, or do you just want to head there before us and we'll meet up at Angel's hotel, the Hyperion."

"I'll most likely be in LA by tomorrow as I am planning on catching the next flight out." I hadn't made flight reservations yet, that would happen once I finished speaking with Willow.

"The Hyperion, right. Will this Angel be there and if so should I be looking for a man or woman?" I knew the name could fit either gender so I figured it good to ask just to be on the safe side.
"Oh okay then. Yeah, the Hyperion Hotel. And Angel's a guy." I said laughing.

"Okay, I guess we'll see you at the hotel tomorrow then." I said to her.

I smiled. "It was nice talking to you again Maida."
"Okay, I guess we'll see you at the hotel tomorrow then."
"It was nice talking to you again Maida."

"Alright, I will see you all at the Hyperion tomorrow and it was good talking to you Willow, though I wish it were under better circumstances." I hung up after my talk with Willow only to make another call. I was lucky enough to get a seat on a flight leaving for LA in two hours, that would give me plenty of time to pack, let Mystique know I would be leaving and make it to the airport in time to catch the flight.

So this Angel was a guy, I wonder if Willow would inform him I would be arriving at his hotel sometime in the early morning hours, most likely before the sun had even started to rise.
I got off the phone with Maida and walked back to where Buffy and the others were. I told Buffy about the situation with Maida, even though she had no clue who I was talking about, and then walked back into where Tara was.
